Bob White was a great friend - the kind you would get up in the middle of the night and drive through a howling blizzard if he needed help; the kind that always made you feel better when things were bad; the kind that would give you the shirt off his back if you were cold or hurting; the kind whose loss leaves a tremendous unfilled void in your life...
We lost Bob the week before Christmas; his death was a complete surprise and a total shock; and the world lost a kind, decent man.
Bob’s hobby and joy was modeling. He had a huge collection of models and books of all kinds & varieties. It was always fun to go to the hobby shops with him and shoot the breeze about the latest releases and projects he wanted to do. Yet although he started many projects, he completed relatively few.
Over the last few months, many of Bob’s unbuilt models have been sent to several military modeling clubs in Iraq. So he is still bringing good cheer and relaxation to our troops overseas and has earned the thanks and appreciation of many that otherwise wouldn’t have any relief from the stress of combat.
As we went through Bob’s collection, we discovered many of those incomplete projects. As a token of respect and appreciation for Bob’s many kindnesses and great friendship, several of us have pledged to complete a number of his projects for this memorial page.
Keep tuned in as we add models over the coming months and think of Bob.
